About this pack
I spent perhaps way too many hours and hours and hours on this sample pack, but of course I am obsessed.
If you do not know, the “Blast Beats” has the peculiarity that certain sounds influence each other. I’ve captured this for the full, glitchy experience and of course went not only into what one would expect, but also into the really mean and broken sound possibilities.
Harsh Blast Beats is a drum sample pack with 1,096 FM drum sounds and noises recorded from the individual outputs of the Twisted Electrons Blast Beats – from “normal” to hard to brutal to utterly broken, covering an extreme bandwidth of the machine.
The pack is based on sample chains that each highlight a specific sound range and work through parameters in a musical way. For the full glitch experience, they also capture the quirks of the YMF262 OPL sound chip, where instruments influence each other and constantly morph their shape. The samples cover kicks (including bass sounds and noises), snares, toms and hihats/cymbals from the drum voices, plus claves, rimshots, bells, cowbells and a collection of squealy and scratchy sounds from the synth voices.
You get all 1,096 samples as 117 sample chains, a selection of 357 single samples for basic use, and all kicks, toms and snares again with multiband overdrive for extra harshness – as mono WAV files at 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz, plus one Digitakt file with four patterns.
The pack works with any sampler, including Digitakt, Octatrack and Tonverk, and comes with alternate 15-slice chains for Analog Rytm and Model:Samples.
Suited for Gabber, Rhythmic Industrial, Glitch, Hard Techno, IDM, Rhythmic Noise and deranged chiptunes.
