Soundpack · Digitone II
VintageVault
Legendary sounds and drums of the 70s and early 80s for the Digitone II – brasses, strings, pads, leads, plucks and classic drum machines.
About this pack
With VintageVault, you can travel to other planets, greet robots and androids, cruise through neon cities in a blue chevy, …
Working on these sounds was a fascinating rabbit hole that reminded me just how radically 70s and 80s sound design differed from the 90s, the 00s, and today.
Legendary sounds and drums of the 70s and early 80s for the Elektron Digitone II. VintageVault brings brasses, strings, pads, leads and plucks “from another planet” – plus recreations of a complete Mini Pops 7 and CR-78 drum machine and assorted further drums.
The 128 Digitone II presets are made for Electronica, Soundtrack, Berlin School, Synthwave, Kosmische Musik, Synth Pop, Cyberpunk, Progressive Rock and EBM – think Jean-Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, Boards of Canada and Kraftwerk.
Version 1.2 adds 15 bonus patterns (taken from the demo) and 5 bonus sounds, so you can hear how the sounds work in an arrangement and start building your own patterns right away.
None of the sounds use transient samples, except three of the Linn Drum-esque sounds for some embellishment. Every demo comes straight from the Digitone II’s direct output and uses only sounds from the pack – you get what you hear.
